International Women’s Day 2024 at Clear Channel UK
07 Mar 2024 / NewsWe’re partnering with the International Women’s Day organisation for International Women’s Day 2024.
This year’s theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, and we want to inspire inclusion by utilising the power of Out of Home (OOH) to promote inclusive messaging that champions equality for women and girls and celebrates their accomplishments.
As a trusted medium, OOH is an inclusive channel that should be an essential part of media planning for all brands. Unfortunately, with more than 40% of UK adults acknowledging they don’t feel represented in advertising, there’s still more work to be done.
Women may often feel out of touch with the media and advertising they encounter. The truth is, the lack of representation and stereotyping in media remains an issue. Because of this, it's crucial for media and advertising to mirror the diverse spectrum of women in our society, encompassing various profiles and backgrounds.
As a Platform for Good, we’re using our digital Out of Home screens nationwide to amplify messaging around International Women’s Day with the hopes of encouraging brands to not only include a diverse range of women and girls in their advertising but to learn and understand the aspirations and challenges of the those included in their branding and content with the hopes of increased authenticity.
Inspiring inclusion internally
Internally, we're celebrating with our people behind the posters all week long starting with a talk from guest speaker, para-triathlete, Claire Danson, who shared her inspirational story of resilience and recovery to winning medals as a member of the British Cycling Team.
Our employee resource group, the Women & Gender Equality Crew, is taking the time to highlight inspirational women within Clear Channel featuring women from across the business on our internal screens in our offices and depots.
Last but not least, our colleagues joined a yoga class and went for a run on International Women’s Day to promote physical wellbeing too.
