Clear Channel UK to transform advertising on the East Coast Mainline
08 Feb 2023 / NewsClear Channel UK, leading Out of Home advertising and infrastructure company, today announced a new contract that will transform and reinvigorate the railway’s advertising estate over the next seven years.
Committed to driving innovation, Clear Channel UK will make a multi-million-pound investment into a complete overhaul of advertising sites along the East Coast Mainline, deploying new state-of-the-art digital screens, upgrading existing screens and significantly reducing the total number of advertising panels across the estate.
For the benefit of passengers, it will also contribute to an improved station environment that provides more relevant and engaging local advertising through a digital broadcast channel that reaches passengers quickly and effectively, with minimal disruptions to journeys.
Taking advertising a step further, Clear Channel UK’s new advertising proposition, Station Live, will debut across the network. With 200 panels currently in existence, reaching 17.7m passengers annually, Station Live delivers sizeable potential for brands when it comes to engaging with passengers during their travels.
Richard Bon, UK Joint Managing Director and Europe Commercial Lead, Clear Channel UK, says: “We’re excited to be back on the railways as we collaborate on revitalising advertising across the network. Our new partnership brings together a shared vision that delivers great experiences for our partners, brands, audiences, and communities and we look forward to seeing how that takes shape in the future.”
Going beyond advertising, Clear Channel UK delivers as a Platform for Good with the creation of a Community Innovation fund for the benefit of the millions of passengers along the East Coast Mainline and its surrounding communities. The fund is available to spend on social value projects and initiatives along the route. Additionally, Clear Channel UK will further support local communities by donating more than £0.5m of media space over the contract to support local charitable organisations.
