2019 was our biggest year ever! As we speed forward into the New Year, we thought we’d take a step back and round up all the numbers, stats, facts, and figures to highlight the impact the company has had since last January.

At the time of counting (not that we counted every one...), our digital network has hosted a staggering 8.3 billion plays of content since January. If that content was displayed back-to-back on a single screen, it would take over 2,630 years to play out!  Over the year our team booked in nearly 15,000 ad campaigns, and our Digital Support Team uploaded over 39,000 individual files. In addition, our new Digital Campaign Management Team proactively monitored over 1000 campaigns, and adjusted 133 campaigns mid-flight.

Our digital estate continued to grow as we celebrated passing 2000 Adshel Live screens, with over 600 new screens added to our network; that’s nearly 11 each week. This is in addition to the 12 new Billboard Live screens built, which in January 2020 led us to celebrate over 100 screens nationwide.

Keeping our national estate running and sparkling clean have been the depots and delivery team, who between them have racked up 1.7 million visits to sites last year, 809,000 of those to post on Adshel and 440,000 to clean units and shelters, and 314,000 to make repairs. Our teams also installed over 40,000 brand new eco LED tubes in our classic sites, replacing old fluorescent tubes.

Establishing ourselves as Platform for Brands, as well as a Platform for Good, meant that in 2019 we were proud to help make a difference to the local communities and areas in which we operate. 37 members of staff volunteered at sessions with our partner Trees for Cities, some of which included planting street trees in communities, bringing important green space. Over 50 of our staff also took part in The Great British Spring Clean earlier in the year, joining in with litter clearing events and helping keep our community spaces clean.  Clear Channel as a company also diverted 99.7% of all our waste away from landfill.

Driving all these additional campaigns has been a mammoth effort from both the National and Direct sales teams. GSQ’s National team have hosted or attended over 4000 external meetings. Direct Sales have a distinct advantage being spread across the UK – they’ve hosted or attended over 9,000 meetings.

Beyond face-to-face communication, digital tools have been key to drive success. We’ve seen over 5,500 people view our People Behind the Posters video, and seen more than 3,200 new followers across our social media channels. Our brand new website has been a fantastic success with more than 35% increase in website traffic.
