Clear Channel celebrates landmark installation of the 2500th Adshel Live panel
02 Mar 2021 / NewsThe milestone installation further solidifies Adshel Live as the UK’s largest Digital Out of Home network and Clear Channel as Out of Home industry leader for national digital reach.
This month, Clear Channel celebrates the installation of their 2500th Adshel Live panel. The completion of the build in Leicester helps solidify Adshel Live as the UK’s largest Digital Out of Home network, capable of a mighty eight million impacts daily and an impressive, nearly 50% weekly reach.
Adshel Live’s wide national presence – from Aberdeen, to Portsmouth, puts it within walking distance of over 50,000 high street retailers, many of which will be preparing to re-open their doors on April 12th, thanks to the easing of Government restrictions.
Retail experts are anticipating a boom in consumer spending in the weeks and months following the return of non-essential retail. The combined reach and impacts of Adshel Live have the ability to influence up to £5.4bn of consumer spend.
Richard Bon, Clear Channel UK’s Joint Managing Director says: “Despite the uncertainty and challenges of the past 12 months, Adshel Live has been hugely resilient as a format. Thanks to its growing presence on local high streets as well as in larger city centres, it continued to be a vital broadcast medium for public service messaging and supporting local businesses.”
“Now, as we’re looking towards a spring and summer of dramatically reduced restrictions, and people are desperate to get back outside, Adshel Live is there stronger than ever and will undoubtedly become an icon for the renaissance of Out of Home. The timing of this landmark could not be better.”
A multi-million-pound investment kick-started the Adshel Live journey and first screen took root in Cardiff in 2015. Though 2020 saw the network’s expansion slow down, the company was still able to install a new screen every 1.5 days on average. Those installs have taken place in new areas such as Leicester, Camden, Barking and Dagenham, as well as in existing areas, such as Newcastle and Birmingham, helping to bolster the network’s footprint.
In 2021 the company aims to return to its usual pace, with an additional 500 screens expected to be installed before the end of the year.
Adshel Live is not alone in driving Clear Channel’s position as the OOH industry leader for national digital reach. The ambitious expansion of Billboard Live has seen the company’s digital 48-sheet network nearly double in the past 12 months. Sights are now firmly set on Billboard Live’s 250th install, expected to take place in coming months.
